Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler gains bronze medal in Croatia

Another Iranian athlete, Ali-Akbar Yousefi, the world gold medal holder was banded the big loser of these competitions. In the quarter final he was faced with Amir Qasemi-Monjezi, lost the game and was deleted from the competitions' round.

In 130kg weight Amir Qasemi-Monjezi after gaining a rest lot for his first match in the 2nd game defeated Romas Friedrichas from Lithuania 2-nil and in the quarter final he beat his own team's Yousefi 2-1 to reach the semifinal.

In the semifinal he lost the game 8-0 to Oscar Hindas, the world silver medal winner from Cuba to have only a chance for bronze.

Thus, both Monjezi and Yousefi lost their chances for gold or silver medals.

At the end of the 3rd night of the Greco-Roman competitions in Zagreb the Iranian athletes have won three gold, a silver and two bronze medals.
